Not all dresses deserve their own blog post but this dress by Red Valentino most certainly does. The embroidery, the colors, the tulle….. there isn’t a single aspect of this dress that isn’t to die for! Scroll through to see this gorgeous work of art from all angles!
This month for our How We Style series we are going to show you 3 ways to style this gorgeous Ulla Johnson Abelia Dress. What’s not to love about this dress? Great color…check…..easy silhouette….check……versatile….check! We could go on and on. With this being a longer style, a lot of people are unsure of how to style it. Check out the pictures below to see 3 unique looks that can be achieved with the Abelia dress.
The first way we styled it was with a pair of white booties (all the rage right now), a cool belt, and some fun earrings. Because this style is very flowy it completely changes the look when you belt it to a more curve showing silhouette. This could be worn during the day and most definitely transition into evening.
Second, because the fabric tends to read dressy, we wanted to show you how to make it more casual for day. We paired it with casual accessories and with a fun high pony tail which instantly makes it look more laid back but clearly still fabulous.
Lastly, we went for a strictly evening look. This dress has a gold thread running through out and I think with the right accessories could even be worn for a cocktail party. We paired it with a glitzy heel, fun small bag and some dressy earrings. A low sleek pony tail adds a touch of sophistication to this look.
We will leave you with a picture of Molly Sims spotted in this dress and she paired it with a Gucci fanny pack. See, the options are endless! 🙂
Our 60% off sale is well underway and we have some amazing pieces left in stock at awesome prices. I wanted to take a minute and highlight a few of the great pieces that are still up for grabs.
The Alice and Olivia Imani Lace Dress features a beautiful blue lace and would be perfect for a dressy dinner or cocktail party. With wedding season fastly approaching, this would be a great piece to have in your wardrobe for an upcoming Spring wedding. It was $440 and is marked down to $176.
I have no idea why someone has not snagged this GORG Saloni dress. The colors and fabric are beautiful and it can be worn so many different ways. It would be great paired with a flat pair of sandals for day and can really be dressed up with a metallic heel. It does have a deep v-neckline but could easily be worn with a cami or bandeau. It was $650 and is now $260.
If you want a great fitting blazer then Smythe needs to be your go to. This navy and cream checked blazer is double breasted and features awesome big gold buttons. What I love most about this blazer is it can be worn in a professional setting but is plenty hip to wear with a great pair of jeans for a night out! Its original price was $895 and is now $358.
This Mara Hoffman dress is such a unique piece and is a great piece to grab on sale. It is another sale piece that can easily be transitioned into warmer weather. The color palette is on point too! Get it now for $180. It was originally $450.
We almost never have any Allude sweaters go on sale but this pretty pink number has stuck around and would be a great buy for anyone who loves a more feminine knit. It is great front tucked into your favorite pair of jeans. It was originally $275 and is now right over a hundred at $110.
This Alice and Olivia leopard wrap dress is a classic piece that could be worn for years to come. In my opinion, nothing is more classic than a wrap dress style and anything leopard. The sale price is pretty amazing too! It started off at $350 and is now $140.
This Megan Park Midi dress would be perfect for the Boho girl who loves an effortless and easy style. It can also be dressed up or down and looks great with a variety of different shoes. It is now marked down to $212 from $529.
These are some of my favorite sale items that are left but check out our sale to see the other great items that are still up for grabs as well!
Often times, we have customers ask us how they should style certain items…. or we hear them say, “if I had others ways I could wear that piece I would love it but I am just not sure what to do with it.” Since we hear this so often, we have decided to do a blog series once a month where we will pick an item we have in-store and show you all various ways to style/wear it. It is always great when you can invest in a piece that is extremely versatile and can be worn a plethora of different ways. We are going to start the series off with this awesome Mara Hoffman wrap dress. It is currently part of our 50% off sale (such a steal) and I am honestly shocked someone hasn’t snatched this piece up already. It is easily one of the most versatile pieces I have in the store right now.
This dress is gorgeous worn by itself with a statement heel and killer Lizzie Fortunato necklace. Styled this way it is more of a dressy look. I think the length of this dress is one reason it hasn’t sold already. People tend to associate a longer length (midi/maxi) with a dressy feel and that isn’t the case. I wear midi dresses on almost a daily basis with a great flat or bootie. It is all about knowing how to style the piece and dressing it down with the right accessories. One way to dress this Mara Hoffman dress down is to layer it over a casual fitted turtleneck. The one below is by Sita Murt. This instantly gives a more laid back feel and it looks great paired with a pair of Rag and Bone booties.
Just because this dress is sleeveless doesn’t mean that you can’t wear it during colder weather. Layer it over a light weight turtleneck and then throw a fun cardigan over it and you are good to go in the Winter months. Perfect for the office or a business lunch.
For a great date night look during the Winter, we loved it paired with this burnt orange Sita Murt sweater and lace up oxford heel. Add a pop of leopard with the handbag, and this feels much more like a going out ensemble but with the practicality of a work outfit. It is all about the accessories. This look could go from day to evening with ease.
Now that you have seen our favorite ways to style this dress, head on over to the sale section of our website and scoop it up for yourself at an amazing price!
It has just been a little over a week since I returned from my amazing trip to California wine country. To say it was amazing would be an understatement! I have never been to California and was blown away at how beautiful it was and the weather is all it is cracked up to be. I could get use to the no humidity thing! Our trip was full of gorgeous views and amazing wine and food! I was thrilled to get to wear some of the great pieces we have in the store and they fit in perfectly amongst the beautiful backdrop.
Our first day was predominantly a travel day but because of the time difference it was only around noon when we arrived in Los Olivos. Los Olivos is about 45 minutes north of Santa Barbara. My in-laws, who were so sweet to bring us on this trip, said that the Central Coast region (where we were) is what Napa was 30 years ago. It is much less developed and a lot less people (just my speed) but has amazing vineyards. The house where we stayed was to die for and had an infinity pool/hot tub overlooking the most gorgeous scenery. My husband and I had our coffee every morning in the hot tub while taking in the views (something else I could get use to)! The first night we went to an amazing italian restaurant called S.Y. Kitchen. This was probably my favorite meal and I had the most delicious fresh pineapple and basil mojito ( ok….I actually had 2, they were that good). I wore one of my favorite pieces in the store right now, Zimmermann’s Laelia High Neck Floral Dress. It is a lightweight linen fabric and features the most beautiful color palette. It is my favorite length – a midi – and has such a romantic feel that only seemed appropriate given the setting! I paired it with some fun Sachin and Babi earrings, a Jerome Dreyfuss Remi bag and a pair of Rachel Zoe heels I have had for a couple years that are comfortable and look great with everything!
We started day 2 at Firestone Vineyard (remember Andrew Firestone from the Bachelor?…his family started the vineyard). This tasting was a great way to start out the trip. We toured the facility and vineyard and they walked us thru the process of how wine is made and everything that goes into it! I learned a lot from this tasting and the wines weren’t so bad either! I wore an Ulla Johnson dress with a Rag and Bone hat and casual black strappy Aquzzura sandals. I wanted to dress up but also wanted to be comfortable and this was the perfect dress to achieve both. I knew this dress would transition perfectly later in the day when it was time to get dinner. I paired it with another Jerome Bag (I can’t get enough of his bags) and my trusty Lizzie Fortunato Modern Craft Earrings that I wear with everything and some Le Specs sunglasses.
Next we headed to my favorite tasting of the trip at Gainey Vineyard. There we did a blindfold challenge where we had to rely solely on taste and smell to identify white wines from red and then more specifically what types of each. We all had such a great time with this one and my husband was the only one who got all of the wines right (we are a wee bit competitive with each other so this pains me to even type that statement haha).
On our third day we went to Rusack Vineyard and this was by far my favorite vineyard we visited on the trip. They had the most gorgeous sitting area with the most phenomenal views. We were able to sit and relax and take it all in while we did the tasting. This is a spot that locals love to come to and on Saturdays you can bring your own lunch and sit for hours sipping on vino and taking in the scenery. If I lived in this area I would definitely be a regular! I wore another super romantic Zimmermann dress and instead of wearing the matching tie belt I added some contrast with one of Lizzie Fortunato’s fabulous belts. I opted for my Modern Craft earrings again (they go with EVERYTHING and don’t hurt my ears even after wearing them all day) and slipped on some Free People sandals that have the perfect height heel. And shocker….I carried another Jerome bag. This one is a pretty pink hue.
On our last day we decided to head farther North to Paso Robles, a place that is special to my husband and I. This is the place where our 5 year old Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Deacon, was born. Several years ago we took a weekend trip to Asheville to celebrate my birthday. We were at a neat wine bar and my husband saw they had a Brochelle red zinfandel on the menu from Paso Robles. Because we had gotten Deacon there he decided to order a glass. We both took a taste and instantly it became one of our favorite wines and still is to this day. We figured since we were going to be so close to the area we had to make a day trip to their tasting room. It was great and we got to try some of their other wines which were also very good. On our way back to the house we stopped in Pismo Beach to eat lunch. I have never seen the Pacific Ocean in person so I had to document! Since I knew we would be in the car a good bit I decided to wear this super comfortable Zimmermann jumpsuit. It comes with a self tie but I wore it flowy with no tie which added to the comfortability. I paired it with the same Lizzie earrings I wore almost everyday, my Aquazzura flats, Rag and Bone hat and the green leopard Remi bag by Jerome Dreyfuss.
It was such an amazing time with family in this beautiful place and I will cherish the memories made forever! Now, excuse me while I go daydream about that pool and those views!
I am currently en route to California with only one flight standing between me and a much-needed fun family vacation! Normally, when I travel it’s for work. It is nice to be switching it up and going somewhere solely for fun. I wanted to share some of my travel essentials and things I do/wear/use the day I am traveling anywhere.
The first thing I always do is prep my skin before getting on a plane. My face gets very dry when I travel so I try to keep it as hydrated as possible. I use all the same products I normally do, I just add a couple extra steps of moisturization to ensure my face stays hydrated for the duration of the travel day. I start by cleansing my face with Elemis’ Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm (1). I have recently started using cleansing balms and I don’t think I will ever go back to a normal cleanser. Balms don’t seem to strip my face of moisture or dry it out like some normal cleansers do. Next, I neutralize my skin by using Kopari’s Coconut Rose Toner (2). This instantly puts some moisture back into my skin after cleansing, and it smells divine! Then I apply an eye serum (3) (I am very generous with this step because my eyes seems to soak it right up) and a Vitamin C Serum (4). Both by Dr. Dennis Gross. Next I apply Rose Hip oil by Naturopathica (5) to my entire face and neck. This is my favorite step. The oil feels so good on my skin and I feel this step is essential to keeping my face moisturized all day. I then follow that up with an Elemis Superfood Day Cream (6). I don’t like to wear a lot of makeup the day I am traveling so I opt for Nars’ Tinted Moisturizer. It gives the perfect amount of coverage and has SPF. I am a nut about sunscreen, so I double up on the SPF by using Supergoop’s Setting Mist with Rosemary (8). I keep my skin hydrated thru out my flight with Dermalogica’s Hydramist (9). This stuff is so refreshing and instantly makes my skin feel hydrated. Kopari’s Coconut Melt (10) is my go to body moisturizer the night before I travel, and pretty much every night while I am on a trip. It can be a little greasy, which is why I don’t use it during the day. At night though, it transforms my skin while I sleep. It is a game changer! Kopari also makes a coconut oil spray that is lighter and is perfect to use for the day.
Aside from prepping my skin, there are some other items that I keep handy while traveling. My husband recently bought me a three meter iphone charging cord. We always wish our charging cords were longer and this takes care of that problem. It is especially great for the airport when outlets can be long distances away. He bought the pretty rose gold color (he knows me well), which is a bonus!
I also recently just got the Wireless Apple Earbuds and I am obsessed. They sync with my iPhone and Apple Watch, and come with a case that charges them in 15 minutes flat. I wasn’t sure how much I would actually use them, but I use them all of the time!
I follow the Skinny Confidential and love everything she posts about and recommends. She recently posted about Liquid IV and how she adds it to her water for optimum hydration. One bottle of water with Liquid IV equals the same hydration as 3 bottles of water. I am terrible about drinking enough water so I had to give it a try. So far it seems to help, and they offer some great flavors.
Comfort is the key when it comes to what I wear when I am traveling. In the warmer months, I love to wear a dress and no one makes a more comfortable dress than Rachel Pally! Not only does this one shoulder dress feel like a pair of pajamas, but it doesn’t wrinkle or have to be dry cleaned. Win – Win! I get cold easily so I always have a scarf with me. By Malene Birger does the perfect size scarf in my opinion. They are a great weight and she always offers beautiful prints. Both scarves below are available on our website and are on SALE! Lastly, I almost always travel in sneakers and we all know that Golden Goose is the sneaker king. My sweet hubby got me this leopard pair (you can never have enough leopard) for Christmas this past year and I wear them with everything!
These are just a few of the things I can’t live without when it comes to traveling! Next up, sipping yummy vino in California wine country!
Welcome to Mosaic Florence! It was such an amazing (and lets be honest…a little stressful at times) journey designing this space from scratch but we are thrilled with the results and can’t wait to share them with you!
I wanted everything to be very white, bright and clean so the clothes could do the talking. It is amazing to see how much color pops against a white back drop. I have always wanted to use our look book photos in another way besides just on social media and the website. I picked several of my favorite shots from past shoots with Angela Zion and framed them above each rack in the store.
The building is over 100 years old and I wanted to keep some old aspects intact. There was a fire in the building many years ago and most of the exposed brick was not in great shape but we were able to keep 2 sections of it showing and framed them off with racks.
One of my favorite parts of the store are the dressing rooms. I wanted them to be large and spacious and a space that really feels comfortable for customers. I chose a geometric wallpapers in two different colors and I was ecstatic with how they turned out. They definitely scream, “sit and stay a while.”
Behind the checkout counter we have two commissioned art pieces done by one of my best friends Morgan Elvington Walker (Melvin G). We picked the color palette to compliment the store and she even designed the accessories on these girls after designs we have had in the store.
All of my fabulous light fixtures came from Saleeby Jean Interiors in Greenville which is owned by one of my great college friends Dixie Dulin. I also got my wallpaper from her! I have some pretty talented friends 🙂
Next is the dramatic before and after pictures. It is hard to believe that the space ever looked like the top picture but it really was exhilarating getting to design my dream store from scratch. I couldn’t have done it without the help of many many people! M3 Renovations handled all of my contractor needs and were fabulous.
If you are ever in town please stop by and see us!! We are located at 178 West Evans Street in Florence and also have another location at 113 West Main Street in Lake City.

A mosaic is a work of art created by assembling beautiful pieces of brightly colored materials, such as glass, metals or stone, to create an image. Mosaic is an upscale contemporary women’s boutique that draws its inspiration from the fundamental lesson communicated by these pictures made from bits and pieces — that the whole is always greater than the sum of its parts. Whether you’re assembling a single outfit or an entire wardrobe, we can help you find just the right pieces and make sure they work together to create the image you want to project. Read more....
