BTS Fall 2020 Market

March 11, 2020

A little less than a month ago I was in NYC scouting out all of the beautiful pieces for Fall 2020! Now that I have completed and written all of my orders, I wanted to share with you all a little behind the scenes look of everything I saw and did while in NYC for market. I was only there for 3 days so there wasn’t much time for play and my schedule mainly consisted of appointments, appointments, and more appointments. ūüôā Which honestly I love. Buying is one of my most favorite things about my job! It is so rewarding to see a whole season come together and to pre-buy amazing pieces with my wonderful customers in mind. Below are some of my favorite appointments and pieces that I saw. Enjoy and let the countdown begin!

Allude cashmere is always a highlight but always my toughest appointment. Take one look at the below color card and you will quickly realize why it is hard to make decisions at this appointment. There are so many amazing color options and silhouettes. I always have a hard time narrowing down my Allude order because I LOVE it all and I know how wearable their pieces are.

Below are a few on my favorites from Allude for Fall 2020. I love a great turtleneck and the one below was such a great weight. I ordered it in this pretty green color but also ordered it in hot pink! How fun will that be? The other two sweaters I kept neutral and I loved them because of their detailing. These are the types of sweaters you reach for over and over again and will live in all Fall/Winter!

Another favorite appointment is Red Valentino. They never disappoint and for Fall 2020 they took their outerwear game to a whole new level. I ordered a good bit of coats/jackets with them because they were all so beautiful and classic. How gorgeous are the below pieces? I am a sucker for a gorgeous red jacket. I have one by Red Valentino that I have had for over a decade and still love it. I thought the middle coat and the pink/purple colorway would be such a pretty pop of color during the cold weather months. Annnddd can we have a moment of silence for this tan leather trench? It is a little pricey and definitely an investment piece but it was too killer not to order.

The below lavendar lace trench coat was another jaw dropper. This piece might be one of my favorites from this market.

Red Valentino always does great capes and I love that this season they incorporated a fun pleating on the entire backside of the cape! So interesting and dramatic!

Ulla Johnson is always at the top of the list market after market and Fall 2020 was no exception. Animal print is going to remain big for the Fall which you all know I am thrilled about. Ulla always has the most gorgeous fabrics. The middle dress is actually a super soft knit and I ordered it in 3 colors. The green dress is made from an Italian fabric that is out of this world.

Ulla also did this purple colorway in the Italian fabric and I literally died over every piece in this group. I ordered both colors and various silhouettes for the store so be prepared to be wowed when these pieces arrive later this year!

I always love Saloni and their prints. Below were just a few of my favorite dresses by them for Fall 2020.

Zimmermann is one of my favorite designers that I carry at Mosaic because of its romantic and feminine aesthetic. It was so pretty for Fall and the jumpsuit below was so amazing. It is a deep purple velvet, double breasted, and has a flare leg. What more could a girl want? They always have the most flattering jumpsuits and I know this one is going to be stunning on whoever the lucky girl is who snags it when it comes in.

Zimmermann had A LOT of animal/exotic prints and I was literally like a kid in a candy shop viewing this collection. Below are two amazing and versatile dresses and a matching blouse and pants set.

L’Agence is a new line at Mosaic but has quickly become one of my favorites. The fit of their pieces is like no other and that is such a hard thing to do! I especially love their blazers and I clearly loved all the variations they had for Fall. All of the styles below will be arriving later this year.

Their Kenzie double breasted blazer is my favorite cut and they offered it in LEATHER (gasp)! I loved it in the black but opted to get it in the softer cognac color. How gorgeous is this going to be? I may or may not have ordered one of these for myself:)

I saw a good bit of new potential lines and am excited to introduce you all to the 3 new additions we will have at Mosaic this Fall. The first is Ba&sh. They had so many amazing dress (Y’all know I love a good easy dress) and some of the cutest knits.

I have been on the search for a great special occasion line that was well made but at reasonable price point and I found it. We will be welcoming ML Monique Lhuillier this Fall and I couldn’t be more excited. They had some truly stunning pieces for evening wear and the prices were amazing!

The last new addition is Farm Rio. I am very very excited about this line. I looked at it last market but just couldn’t pull the trigger. Well after viewing Fall, I knew it was time to bring this line to Mosaic. Their pieces are very colorful, fun, and whimsical and are also an extremely great price point!

I am a creature of habit when it comes to the restaurants I like to frequent when I am in town but this trip I did try a new spot. I have been wanting to eat at Restoration Hardware’s rooftop restaurant strictly for the views and how beautiful it looked in person. This trip I was able to meet a great friend there for dinner one night and it was awesome! I have been to several Restoration Hardware locations and they are all stunning. I could move right in. This meatpacking location has an amazing glass elevator that scales the height of the entire building…. GOALS!

You take the elevator all the way up and you walk out and are greeted with the below view. It definitely speaks my language and has such a cool vibe.

Aside from the decor, the food was really good. We sipped on bellini’s and started with the burrata appetizer. We couldn’t decide on entree’s so we decided to split the burger and the lobster roll which was perfect and so tasty. The truffle fries obviously weren’t too shabby either. I will leave you with these mouth watering pictures and hope you enjoyed seeing a sneak peek into all the goodness that is to come for Fall 2020! Until next market!

Best of Sale

January 29, 2019

Our 60% off sale is well underway and we have some amazing pieces left in stock at awesome prices. I wanted to take a minute and highlight a few of the great pieces that are still up for grabs.

The Alice and Olivia Imani Lace Dress features a beautiful blue lace and would be perfect for a dressy dinner or cocktail party. With wedding season fastly approaching, this would be a great piece to have in your wardrobe for an upcoming Spring wedding. It was $440 and is marked down to $176.

I have no idea why someone has not snagged this GORG Saloni dress. The colors and fabric are beautiful and it can be worn so many different ways. It would be great paired with a flat pair of sandals for day and can really be dressed up with a metallic heel. It does have a deep v-neckline but could easily be worn with a cami or bandeau. It was $650 and is now $260.

If you want a great fitting blazer then Smythe needs to be your go to. This navy and cream checked blazer is double breasted and features awesome big gold buttons. What I love most about this blazer is it can be worn in a professional setting but is plenty hip to wear with a great pair of jeans for a night out! Its original price was $895 and is now $358.

This Mara Hoffman dress is such a unique piece and is a great piece to grab on sale. It is another sale piece that can easily be transitioned into warmer weather. The color palette is on point too! Get it now for $180. It was originally $450.

We almost never have any Allude sweaters go on sale but this pretty pink number has stuck around and would be a great buy for anyone who loves a more feminine knit. It is great front tucked into your favorite pair of jeans. It was originally $275 and is now right over a hundred at $110.

This Alice and Olivia leopard wrap dress is a classic piece that could be worn for years to come. In my opinion, nothing is more classic than a wrap dress style and anything leopard. The sale price is pretty amazing too! It started off at $350 and is now $140.

This Megan Park Midi dress would be perfect for the Boho girl who loves an effortless and easy style. It can also be dressed up or down and looks great with a variety of different shoes. It is now marked down to $212 from $529.

These are some of my favorite sale items that are left but check out our sale to see the other great items that are still up for grabs as well!

Fall Friendly

July 30, 2015

What you may not know when looking at the three outfits above is that each one features an item from Spring. With the end of each season we are always looking forward to what new items we can buy and sometimes neglect great items from past season that can transition seamlessly into the next. I was looking through out Spring Sale racks last week and realized there were some amazing pieces left at great prices that could easily be worn this Fall. We have styled three different outfits in this post to show you how easy it is to incorporate some of your favorite Spring pieces into Fall ensembles.

The first item is the by Malene Birger Latsy printed maxi dress. Who doesn’t love a sleeveless maxi dress in the Spring and Summer? However, sometimes we put these away once the season ends and don’t pull them out again until the next year. This maxi dress features a neutral palette and therefore doesn’t limit itself to one season. We paired it with a cozy¬†new Allude Chunky sweater. This is one of our favorite pieces for Fall and we cinched it in with a by Malene Birger wrap around belt. The Jerome Dreyfuss booties we paired it with are also a Spring item but would be a great neutral heel to take into Fall. Did we mention our Sale items are 60% off?!?!

The next outfit actually features two Spring items. We took an easy Elliott Lauren button down and paired it over a causal Rachel Pally maxi dress. I love the look of taking a loose fitting button down and tying it in the front with a short or long dress. It is casual and easy but looks put together and stylish at the same time!

For the final look we combined this great IRO sweatshirt from Spring with a new printed Equipment blouse and a great pair of Current Elliott skinnies. This is a great way to incorporate your favorite sleeveless blouses into Fall outfits. Layer them with your favorite sweater or jacket so can continue to enjoy wearing them.

NYFW Fall 2015 Day 1 Recap

February 12, 2015

This morning, bright and early, we headed to the big apple to kick off fashion week!! Over the next week we will be seeing some amazing runway presenations and will be headed to showrooms to view Fall 2015 collections. Our schedule is slammed, but lets be honest, we wouldn’t have it any other way! We are viewing some lines that will be new to Mosaic and we are excited to share every detail of¬†this trip with you all!!

We went straight from the airport to our first appointment….Vince shoes. We have been fans of their shoes for a while now and can’t be more thrilled that we will be carrying them at Mosaic. Their Fall 2015 collection didn’t disappoint and it is going to be a chore narrowing down our choices. While we were browsing the collection, we were pleasantly surprised to run into the fabulous Diane von Furstenberg! What a way to start the trip?!?

photo 1-25

photo 5-19

photo 2-25After Vince, we hurried over to the Lincoln Center for the BCBG Max Azria runway show! The show included rich colors, a plethora of embroidery and shearling touches through out. Our favorites included several statement jackets and oversized neutral turtlenecks!

bcbgspr15The show itself wasn’t the only highlight! We ended up running into some of our favorite bloggers including Arielle of Something Navy, Jacey of Damsel in Dior, Aimee of Song of Style and Rachel of Pink Peonies!! They were all so nice and it was neat to be able to meet them in person!

bloggersNext was our appointment with Fashionhaus to view by Malene Birger and Allude. This is one appointment I always looks forward to and am never let down. By Malene Birger’s collection included pops of burnt orange, marsala and more neutral camel hues. Her oversized knits make us swoon!

photo 3-21Her scarves for Fall 2015 were on point. We are suckers for anything leopard print and she had some amazing color options available. How are we to choose?

photo 4-19Next came Allude! Their luxurious knits are like no other. Our favorites from the collection included, surprise surprise, these sweaters that feature a¬†large graphic leopard print! Are y’all seeing a pattern here?

photo 5-18One of the coolest yet daunting things about Allude is you can pretty much pick any style sweater and get it in about 100 different color options. Narrowing down the colors is torture. Below is just a small fraction of the colors they offer!!

photo 1-27We finished off the day at Rebecca Minkoff! Her collection included¬†bright pops of magenta, green and more fringe, which we aren’t complaining about!! We hope the fringe trend sticks around for a while!

photo 2-27After a day of running from one appointment to the next, we worked up quite the appetite! We headed to our trusty favorite Koi to load up on fresh and out of this world sushi! We started with the lobster tacos and proceeded to order quite the variety of rolls. You can’t really go wrong there!!

photo 3-23

photo 4-21Tomorrow we will view full Fall collections for BCBG, Trina Turk, M. Missoni, Hunter Bell and will finish off the day at Nicole Miller’s Runway Show! Stay tuned!!

Live-In Leather

October 6, 2014

This wonderful chill in the air means one thing, its leather weather. ¬† A fabulous leather moto jacket is a closet staple for just about everyone and slowly, but surely another leather piece has been gaining popularity among wardrobes. ¬†Leather pants, or leggings have become the new cold weather staple because they are so versatile. ¬†They are an investment piece for sure, but you will get just as much wear out of them as you do your favorite leather jacket. ¬†A simple, slim fitting style is the easiest to wear in either a black or brown color. ¬†Make sure they fit properly because leather will stretch over time so you want them to be snug, but you don’t need to go down a size. ¬†The quality of the leather will determine the durability of the piece so you want to make sure you spend your money on a high quality pair that will last a long time. ¬†Don’t forget you need to find a professional cleaner that specializes in leather so you can extend the life of your pants.

You can style your leather leggings with just about anything like you would a pair of jeans or leggings. ¬†I’ve got four looks to show you to give you some ideas that will show you how truly versatile these amazing By Malene Birger Leather Leggings look with just about any top. ¬†For the first outfit we kept things simple and neutral by pairing the leggings with a casual By Malene Birger turtleneck, Rebecca Minkoff booties, and a¬†Trina Turk crossbody. ¬†We even added another touch of leather with these fun Megan Park earrings. ¬†This outfit is a great go to look for busy days or traveling. ¬†You can even add¬†a sweater or blazer for an extra¬†layer on colder days.

Here’s a great look that rocks two of Fall’s biggest trends, leather and fur! ¬†This extraordinary fur vest by Elizabeth and James was meant to be paired with the leather pants. ¬†A simple long sleeved shirt by Elliot Lauren was the perfect backdrop for the vest and the length is perfect for leggings. ¬†This boho-chic look is another great outfit for the day to meet friends for lunch in or go shopping. ¬†The Rebecca Minkoff Quilted Affair bag is the perfect size to carry all your necessities in and still be lightweight. ¬†The strap is adjustable so you can wear it like a cross body or on your shoulder. ¬†I used the Alex booties by Rebecca Minkoff again to keep with the earthy tones of this outfit.

Leather leggings can also be work appropriate with the right blouse and shoes.  I paired a Nanette Lepore textured cream blouse with a longer hemline and a fabulous pair of suede Schutz heels to dress up the pants.  This tribal printed vest by Nell is the perfect addition to this outfit to give it some structure and more texture.  The colors combine so nicely and really makes me feel like its Fall.  A slouchy leather bag like this one by Raoul is perfect for work and running to meetings.

The last look I want to share with you is the ultimate chic and comfortable outfit.  A cashmere poncho, like this one by Allude, with the leather leggings is the absolute perfect match.  Its such a simple look but you will standout among a crowd.  I accented the sweater with a gold and leather necklace by Megan Park, Rebecca Minkoff booties, and an amazing python clutch by Malene Birger.  You could wear this anywhere and to anything.  Just swap the boots out for heels for the night and you are good to go!

Don’t forget to find a professional cleaner that specializes in leather for a pair like this. ¬†You can extend the life of them by having them cleaning properly and get your money out of this investment piece! ¬†Can’t wait to show you more ways to style leather pants this season!
