Day 3 & 4 of market were full of awesome showroom appointments. We saw so many great things the first two days it was hard to think it could get any better….but it did! See some of our favorite appointments below!
We were so excited when we found out that Tucker was re-launching! Tucker always was a great seller and they had such amazing prints. This holds true for their Spring 2017 collection as well!
Next we headed to Self Portrait. This will be a new line for Mosaic and the pieces are like works of art. The detailing is unreal!
Self Portrait offered this cool off the shoulder neckline on many of their silhouettes.
Megan Park is always a delight to see and their Spring ’17 collection offers some great prints and beautiful embroidery!
A great caftan and jewelry at Megan Park!
Another new line coming to Mosaic is Saloni. Five words to remember about this line….Out of this world prints!
Fun iphone cases at By Malene Birger.
By Malene Birger offered many great pieces featuring this beautiful burnt orange color.
The last line we saw on Day 3 was another new line…Hemant & Nandita. More awesome prints and super wearable styles.
More Hemant & Nandita!
Day 4 started at Rag & Bone! It is always a pleasure being in their showroom!
Great bags at Rag and Bone and an awesome floral print in their Ready-to-wear.
Easy Rag & Bone Slide!
DVF no longer is showing at the Coterie so we saw the line in their amazing showroom in the meatpacking district.
Our last market appointment was at Dannijo!
It is always hard narrowing down our selection at Dannijo!
That’s a wrap on market and now we are off to write orders! We can’t wait for you all to see all of the amazing things coming to Mosaic for Spring 2017!!
All of the chilly temps lately have us dreaming of warmer weather and wearing easy breezy Resort/Spring styles. One of my favorite designers for warm weather is Megan Park. She always has amazing prints and her pieces are so effortless and easy to wear. Take a peek below at some of the pieces from her fabulous Resort collection that are in store now! Shop all of the looks here!
We absolutely love the Maui Print that is featured in this next outfit. The colors are vibrant and fun and the pattern looks like it was hand drawn on this halter top giving it a whimsical feel. We paired the blouse with a great fitting pair of J Brand skinny jeans. We cuffed the jeans to give it a casual feel and paired it with a pair of Jerome Dreyfuss heels (they are on super sale right now). We finished it off by layering multiple black beaded necklaces.
The next dress could double as a great cover-up on your next vacation. The beautiful floral hand embroidered detailing at the top of the dress give it a real richness! To make this dress more appropriate for cooler weather we styled it with a pair of Rebecca Minkoff suede fringe booties. We added a great cuff by Dannijo and earrings by Kendra Scott.
We love the Maui print so much we had to show you another style that features the gorgeous print. This maxi is what dreams are made of! What isn’t there to love about this dress? We paired it with these super fun and flirty earrings that were made to go with this maxi!
Rachel Zoe never ceases to amaze us with her ability to transform a simple black dress into something magnificent. Her pieces exude luxury and sophistication and the Volkov dress is no exception. This Tuxedo dress is perfectly tailored and can be worn several different ways. This menswear inspired piece is double breasted and features a button front closure and front flap pockets. The subtle v neckline balances the mini length of the dress. If the length is too much for you, a pretty slip would give you more coverage. A slip with a lace hem peeking out would add the ideal amount of femininity to this masculine piece. Another option would be to wear a pair of pants underneath like we have seen several celebrities sporting down the red carpet recently. With any of these looks a killer pair of heels is key, you can introduce a pop of color with the shoe or keep it sleek with a black pair of stilettos. For the upcoming Holiday season a plum lip is fierce or you can keep it classic with a red lip. Erin gave this look some edge by pairing the dress with a chunky heeled bootie and DannijoRoxanna cuff. This versatile piece can even be worn open as a tuxedo style jacket with a delicate cami underneath.
This week we welcomed designer Milly to the Mosaic family! We were excited to receive our first shipment and it didn’t disappoint. I have always liked Milly’s designs but in the past several years Michelle Smith, founder and designer, has totally stepped up her game. She has added a bold flare to her classic designs. Whether you love a sophisticated sheath dress in a bold print or a young and fun midi skirt with a crop top, Milly has something for every age or style. Her pieces are very versatile and can be worn so many different ways. The Tess blouse, seen below styled 3 different ways, is a prime example of that. It can be paired with a leather skirt, casual black shorts or layered under a dress. This is a blouse that will become your go-to!
The Butterfly dress is a style that Milly does in many colors but we opted for a beautiful cobalt blue color way (this is one of the colors for Fall 2015). Most people would buy this dress to wear to a dressy event but we also love this dress paired with a funky pair of booties and some wood and tassel necklaces to dress it down.
I can’t finish this post with out spotlighting the amazing Tweed Day coat. It is everything you would want in a coat – versatile, fun and classic all in one! Shop these styles and others online now and stay tuned for more new arrivals from Milly coming soon!!
Let’s take a moment and talk about one of our new lines at Mosaic, A.L.C. The Andrea Lieberman Collection has set the standard on cool season after season since its debut in 2009. Stylist turned designer, Andrea Lieberman made a name for herself dressing Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson, Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, Gwen Stefani and Jennifer Lopez. (Yes, she was responsible for that iconic green Versace gown that JLo wore to the Grammys’ in 2009.) Her collection is filled with refined essentials that are classic and wearable. You will find sophisticated and luxurious pieces with a casual vibe that can be worn a number of ways. Pieces from her collection will certainly be classics in your wardrobe that you will reach for for years to come.
The Nora dress by A.L.C. takes a sophisticated silhouette and makes it fun with a bold, floral pattern. The subtle flare of the sleeve and skirt elongate your limbs and make you appear thin and tall. The luxurious silk fabric flows away from the body so nicely and the vibrant floral pattern makes this a statement dress. We added some Eddie Borgo bracelets to give it some edge and our favorite Rebecca Minkoff Raz heels in Black.
A girl can never go wrong with a simple black and white striped dress. Andrea has updated the classic striped dress we all know and love with her Fain dress. The paneled construction and mismatched stripes create a visually slimming effect. I love how the fluttering asymmetrical hemline adds some femininity to this structured dress. We added a brass tasseled vintage necklace, black gladiator sandals and a fun marble printed crossbody by Rebecca Minkoff to make the look a little more funky. I can see myself wearing this on a weekend away exploring a new city or visiting with friends. This little number will keep you cool and comfortable as the temperatures rise this Summer.
Last, but not least I want to show you this knockout piece, the Cini Dress in Bubblegum and Sunset. This flirty little dress features criss cross straps in the back and a flared skirt. The vivid colors of the fabric make this a piece that will turn heads when you walk into the room. Nude heels are the perfect accessory for this bright dress. Dannijo’s new spring pieces arrived just in time for this look. I love how the blue accents in Gemma bib and Andy cuff pop against the pink in the dress. The silver Navi earrings are the perfect statement earring for day or evening. We love to mix colors and patterns so we paired Rebecca Minkoff’s Leo Clutch in Watercolor Multi with this look.
I have to admit to you all that I had all intentions of writing a recap each night we were in NYC to feature the great things we did and saw each day. However, between the weather and our non-stop schedule, by the time we got back to the room the only thing we did was pass out! With that said, this post features everything we did after day 1 in New York and has lots and lots of pictures! Hope you all enjoy!
We started day 2 in the BCBG showroom! We were greeted by these 4 lovely ladies and I am still dreaming of this colorful patchwork coat.
In the middle of the showroom was every look that went down the runway the day before. This picture doesn’t do these garments justice. The amount of detail on each of these outfits was breathtaking! See the full BCBG runway show here!
After Trina Turk we got to hang out with one of our favorites and friend, Hunter Bell. I had never been to her showroom so this was a treat! They do everything from design the line, create the samples, ship the line and show the line all under one roof! As always, it is great catching up with Hunter and her Fall line looks amazing!! It is my favorite collection by her to date!
I have never experienced weather as cold as it was on this trip. At one point I checked the weather and it said it felt like -15 outside! Yep…you read that right…-15!! We bundled up the best we could but I have to say I would be fine never experiencing temps that low again! After seeing BCBG, Trina and Hunter Bell we decided to duck into the place that always makes me feel warm inside….Bergdorf’s! When you step off of the elevator onto the 7th floor the smell is out of this world! We opted for the lobster mac and cheese(duh) and a lobster and avocado salad. For desert we had a chocolate molten cake and salted caramel gelato!
After that wonderful mid afternoon meal we headed over to the Lincoln Center for the Nicole Miller runway show! The Dark Forest collection was mythical and made us feel like we were in some sort of fantasy land. There were digitized forest and crystal prints and multi color fur detailing through out. The overall vibe for this show was very different from Nicole Miller’s past collections but we loved it!
Day 3 was full of amazing runway shows from Tibi, Mara Hoffman and Herve Leger. Tibi held their runway show at the Waterfront Building and the venue had so much character. The collection was full of minimalist knits in calm, cool colors and many of the pieces included fur touches and fuzzy detailing. We are thrilled to welcome Tibi to Mosaic for Fall 2015.
Mara Hoffman is always one of my favorite shows to attend! This show was no exception! She played with textures, embroidery, and gold beading to add just a hint of ’70s vibe to the collection.
Herve Leger’s show featured jacquard dresses peeking out under matching oversize bombers and was inspired by a recent trip made by designer, Lubov Azria, to Barcelona. This was the first time attending their show and the designs were simply breathtaking in person!
After a wonderful day spent viewing Fall 2015 collections on the runway we headed to the Elizabeth and James showroom! All we can say is fur, fur and more fur….and gorgeous fur at that!!
Day 4 started off with a bang at Tibi. After seeing the amazing runway show, I was very eager to view the full collection! They had the most cozy chunky knit sweaters that we wish we could have walked out of the showroom with. They also had one of the most gorgeous leather dresses I have ever seen! Expect to see this beauty at Mosaic this Fall.
Next was Giles and Brother and simply put we will be ordering 1 of everything! Their jewelry is so wearable but super unqiue at the same time!
Several blocks from Giles was Jerome Dreyfuss and their amazing wall of stunning shoes and bags! Pops of burnt orange and wine hues were scattered among the beautiful collection.
Our last stop was at one of our favorites, Megan Park. The Ready-to-Wear collection was obviously on point but she is now featuring home items and we couldn’t stop drooling!
Day 5 was designated for seeing lots of awesome jewels. We started off the day at Lionette! This line is a favorite of Hunter Bell and we are so glad she told us about them! There designs also make regular appearances on the CW’s Hart of Dixie!
Dannijo was next and they mixed up the collection for Fall by offering only all silver and gold pieces. We are use to a lot of color from Dannijo but we loved the more neutral collection. Don’t worry!! The pieces were still as amazing as ever!
We had to give y’all a peek of a cool section of their new showroom that is full of mannequins dressed in all of the jewels from past seasons!
Day 6 was our last day in the city and at this point we were dreaming of Carolina and warmer temps but still saw some amazing collections including A.L.C, Current Elliott, Equipment, Alice + Olivia and Rachel Zoe!
A.L.C featured a rad tie-dyed print and some gorgeous metallic lace! What a combo?!?
Alice and Olivia is always fun, flirty and unpredictable! The award for the most stunning coats definitely goes to Stacey Bendet and her Fall 2015 Collection!
Whew!! Our heads are still spinning and now we are off to the drawing board to put together an amazing assortment for you all for Fall 2015!! Stay tuned!
Diane von Furstenberg has spiced up some of our favorite silhouettes with her fabulous new print, Grain Shadow. The McKinley Maxi showcases this fun and funky print in pink, blue, and citrus along with mesh panels and marbled colors. It features a deep v neck and criss cross back that is easy to slip into. The fluid silk fabric flows beautifully away from the body and is oh so comfortable. You will never want to take this dress off once its on! For Spring and Summer I can see this during the day with simple metallic sandals and a cute hat. Then at night just swap out the sandals for a great pair of heels and some sparkly jewelry. We are in love with the Livi earring by Dannijo. The colorful ear jackets are so hot this season and make such a statement. You can even pair the jacket with your favorite pair of stud earrings for a different look!
DVF has updated her classic wrap dress with the New Julian Two Mini in a playful shorter length. The vibrant woodgrain printed silk jersey in pink just pops against any skin color and will brighten your day easily. This is the perfect dress to pack for your next weekend getaway or night out on the town. We added a Rebecca Minkoff’s Finn Clutch that can transition from day to night simply by removing the strap.
The Ireland Jumpsuit is a daring and unexpected look that would be great for your next cocktail party. The gorgeous blue grain shadow print is so chic with the dramatic keyhole neckline. Dannijo’s Jovana earrings and Nellie Cuff add the right amount of edge to this sleek outfit.
A mosaic is a work of art created by assembling beautiful pieces of brightly colored materials, such as glass, metals or stone, to create an image. Mosaic is an upscale contemporary women’s boutique that draws its inspiration from the fundamental lesson communicated by these pictures made from bits and pieces — that the whole is always greater than the sum of its parts. Whether you’re assembling a single outfit or an entire wardrobe, we can help you find just the right pieces and make sure they work together to create the image you want to project. Read more....
