“Every year the women of New York leave the past behind and look forward to the future….this is known as fashion week.” -Carrie Bradshaw
Bright eyed and bushy tailed, we arrived in the Big Apple this morning for the start of New York Fashion Week! It’s hard to describe the energy surrounding fashion week but it is exhilarating and something we look forward to every season! We kicked off the day at the BCBG show. This show always opens fashion week and has an impressive guest list. We have been eager to see what trends are going to be big for Spring 2016 and some that jumped out to us at BCBG were 1. Huge 70’s vibe 2. Pastel palettes 3. Lots of embroidery and texture.
Below are three of the looks we loved from the show!
After the show we headed straight to showroom appointments. Our first was with Eileen Fisher. This will be a new line for Mosaic and is the epitome of sophistication and togetherness. This line appeals to all ages and features silhouettes that would flatter any figure. Her Spring collection also featured a very neutral palette with pops of pastels through out.
We then arrived at Fashionhaus to view one of our favorites, By Malene Birger. Her collection featured gorgeous lace and eyelet and every piece had amazing texture. The collection featured some metallic touches as well as pops of tangerine.
No one does a scarf quite like by Malene Birger so we were thrilled to see so many prints and patterns to choose from.
The rest of the day consisted of viewing A.L.C., Equipment and Current Elliott as well as a new shoe line you all are going to FLIP over! We can’t wait to let you know what designer it is but trust us, it will be worth the wait!
While we were busy perusing Ready-to-Wear collections, part of the Mosaic team headed to Brooklyn to scout out something different. Later this Fall we will be introducing a specially curated home selection! We have brought on our trusted friend and talented home decor expert, Erin McEachin, to put together and find the best and most special selection for you all. Through out this next several days she will be visiting some amazing showrooms as well as visiting some of New York City and Brooklyn’s best vintage shops. We have no doubt she will find some amazing one of a kind finds for you all!
Nothing was more perfect for Erin to wear for a day in Brooklyn than the Equipment Mina Dress. Its easy, fun and flowy silhouette make it the perfect running around dress. Get the last one of these dresses here!

Tomorrow will bring another exciting day with some amazing runway shows in store. Check back tomorrow to see what we wore to the shows and what other amazing collections we saw for Spring 2016!
What you may not know when looking at the three outfits above is that each one features an item from Spring. With the end of each season we are always looking forward to what new items we can buy and sometimes neglect great items from past season that can transition seamlessly into the next. I was looking through out Spring Sale racks last week and realized there were some amazing pieces left at great prices that could easily be worn this Fall. We have styled three different outfits in this post to show you how easy it is to incorporate some of your favorite Spring pieces into Fall ensembles.
The first item is the by Malene Birger Latsy printed maxi dress. Who doesn’t love a sleeveless maxi dress in the Spring and Summer? However, sometimes we put these away once the season ends and don’t pull them out again until the next year. This maxi dress features a neutral palette and therefore doesn’t limit itself to one season. We paired it with a cozy new Allude Chunky sweater. This is one of our favorite pieces for Fall and we cinched it in with a by Malene Birger wrap around belt. The Jerome Dreyfuss booties we paired it with are also a Spring item but would be a great neutral heel to take into Fall. Did we mention our Sale items are 60% off?!?!
The next outfit actually features two Spring items. We took an easy Elliott Lauren button down and paired it over a causal Rachel Pally maxi dress. I love the look of taking a loose fitting button down and tying it in the front with a short or long dress. It is casual and easy but looks put together and stylish at the same time!
For the final look we combined this great IRO sweatshirt from Spring with a new printed Equipment blouse and a great pair of Current Elliott skinnies. This is a great way to incorporate your favorite sleeveless blouses into Fall outfits. Layer them with your favorite sweater or jacket so can continue to enjoy wearing them.
These items and many other great finds are available in our 60% off Sale going on now!!
We just received a new shipment in from Equipment this weekend and we just had to share some of the pieces with you. Their silk shirts and dresses are some of our favorite go to items that are timeless. Recently we’ve fallen in love with their super soft sweaters. If you haven’t had a chance to check out this brand yet you need to! You will want to live in their silk pieces all year round. We styled three different looks with some of the new pieces below and the rest are available to buy at https://lovemosaic.com/categories/Designers/Equipment/
It all about animal prints today on the blog! Leopard is one of my all time favorite animal prints and is so on trend this fall. I love how people are calling Leopard the new black and treating it as if it were a neutral color. It truly is a versatile print that can be worn pretty much with anything so it is definitely a timeless print.
I love the mod style of this Rachel Zoe dress and the leopard accent at the hem. It is such a simple, but striking look that can be worn so many ways. I styled it here with heels and a fabulous clutch by Nanette Lepore, but I can also see this dress with an elegant coat and boots. This is a dress you will reach for over and over again for years to come.
I love the fun, flirty feel of this outfit! This Diane Von Furstenburg sweater pairs perfectly with the BCBG aline skirt and by Malene Birger boots and hat. The gray metallic leopard print is different from what you normally see and the conservative cut of the sweater make this a timeless piece. I previously styled this sweater with jeans and sneakers so you can see the versatility of this piece.
A leopard coat is a must have for any chic lady! It transforms a simple black dress into a fabulous date night look. This La Prestic Ouiston coat is made from vintage scarves and pairs so nicely with this black BCBG dress and Megan Park necklace. I finished the outfit with this fur Raoul clutch and strappy heels.
Today was full of appointments viewing current lines carried at Mosaic as well as potential new lines for Spring 2015. We started the day at the Empire State building in the Rachel Zoe showroom. Her showroom was just as beautiful and chic as you would imagine. Also, Rachel just happened to be present getting her collection ready for the presentation being held tomorrow. It was very cool to see her in action!
Rachel Zoe’s Ready to Wear collection didn’t dissapoint. There were great pieces that featured beautiful chain detailing and it is very evident that midi length skirts and dresses will be all the rage for Spring 2015. She also threw a dash of animal print in there, which of course I have no objection to!
Her shoe collection was out of this world. I literally could take one of each style.
We then headed over to the 10 Eleven showroom! It is housed in a historic building in Bryant Park and has so much character. This showroom is home to many wonderful brands.
The first line we viewed there was Equipment. We just started carrying Equipment in the store and it has been uber successful! The silhouettes fit everyone well and the silk in thicker, therefore making it flattering and pieces that will hold up over time. They are truly investment pieces. Not to mention, they have the best prints!
These were just a few of our favorites!
Next up was Elle Sasson, a new line for Mosaic. It was whimsical and fun and featured some unique prints with intricate beading and embroidery.
I absolutely loved the presence of flamingos in the collection! How fun is this outfit?
If you get an up close view of the flamingo shorts you realize how detailed the embroidery is and how much work went into them.
Tanya Taylor, another new line, was beautiful and I loved the color combinations she used. Pops of bright flourescent orange were present in many of the pieces.
Here are a couple of my favorite looks from her runway show!
I had been looking forward to viewing A.L.C. and it was even prettier than I would have expected. Their graphic floral print was great and it is going to be very hard narrowing down the line. We loved so many things!
After spending several hours at 10 Eleven we had worked up an appetite! Luckily, the Bryant Park Grill was right outside the door. We snacked on a delicious desert and drank much needed coffees!
Our last appointment of the day was Nicole Miller! Her inspiration for the Spring 2015 collection came from some of her recent travels to Rio de Janeiro. There were many playful silhouettes and enticing tropical floral prints featuring shades of peach, jade and coral. Doesn’t this entrance into her showroom make you want to take a little trip?
My favorite looks from her Spring 2015 collection included these three!
Tomorrow will be our last day in the city…..until next week! We will end this trip on a high note by viewing Mara Hoffman, Dannijo and Rebecca Minkoff’s collections!! Stay tuned!
