Day 2 was full of fashion shows, outfit changes and lots of running around in between! Below are a few of our looks from the day! Shop all of these looks now at www.lovemosaic.com!
I have to admit to you all that I had all intentions of writing a recap each night we were in NYC to feature the great things we did and saw each day. However, between the weather and our non-stop schedule, by the time we got back to the room the only thing we did was pass out! With that said, this post features everything we did after day 1 in New York and has lots and lots of pictures! Hope you all enjoy!
We started day 2 in the BCBG showroom! We were greeted by these 4 lovely ladies and I am still dreaming of this colorful patchwork coat.
In the middle of the showroom was every look that went down the runway the day before. This picture doesn’t do these garments justice. The amount of detail on each of these outfits was breathtaking! See the full BCBG runway show here!
After Trina Turk we got to hang out with one of our favorites and friend, Hunter Bell. I had never been to her showroom so this was a treat! They do everything from design the line, create the samples, ship the line and show the line all under one roof! As always, it is great catching up with Hunter and her Fall line looks amazing!! It is my favorite collection by her to date!
I have never experienced weather as cold as it was on this trip. At one point I checked the weather and it said it felt like -15 outside! Yep…you read that right…-15!! We bundled up the best we could but I have to say I would be fine never experiencing temps that low again! After seeing BCBG, Trina and Hunter Bell we decided to duck into the place that always makes me feel warm inside….Bergdorf’s! When you step off of the elevator onto the 7th floor the smell is out of this world! We opted for the lobster mac and cheese(duh) and a lobster and avocado salad. For desert we had a chocolate molten cake and salted caramel gelato!
After that wonderful mid afternoon meal we headed over to the Lincoln Center for the Nicole Miller runway show! The Dark Forest collection was mythical and made us feel like we were in some sort of fantasy land. There were digitized forest and crystal prints and multi color fur detailing through out. The overall vibe for this show was very different from Nicole Miller’s past collections but we loved it!
Day 3 was full of amazing runway shows from Tibi, Mara Hoffman and Herve Leger. Tibi held their runway show at the Waterfront Building and the venue had so much character. The collection was full of minimalist knits in calm, cool colors and many of the pieces included fur touches and fuzzy detailing. We are thrilled to welcome Tibi to Mosaic for Fall 2015.
Mara Hoffman is always one of my favorite shows to attend! This show was no exception! She played with textures, embroidery, and gold beading to add just a hint of ’70s vibe to the collection.
Herve Leger’s show featured jacquard dresses peeking out under matching oversize bombers and was inspired by a recent trip made by designer, Lubov Azria, to Barcelona. This was the first time attending their show and the designs were simply breathtaking in person!
After a wonderful day spent viewing Fall 2015 collections on the runway we headed to the Elizabeth and James showroom! All we can say is fur, fur and more fur….and gorgeous fur at that!!
Day 4 started off with a bang at Tibi. After seeing the amazing runway show, I was very eager to view the full collection! They had the most cozy chunky knit sweaters that we wish we could have walked out of the showroom with. They also had one of the most gorgeous leather dresses I have ever seen! Expect to see this beauty at Mosaic this Fall.
Our last stop was at one of our favorites, Megan Park. The Ready-to-Wear collection was obviously on point but she is now featuring home items and we couldn’t stop drooling!
Day 5 was designated for seeing lots of awesome jewels. We started off the day at Lionette! This line is a favorite of Hunter Bell and we are so glad she told us about them! There designs also make regular appearances on the CW’s Hart of Dixie!
Dannijo was next and they mixed up the collection for Fall by offering only all silver and gold pieces. We are use to a lot of color from Dannijo but we loved the more neutral collection. Don’t worry!! The pieces were still as amazing as ever!
We had to give y’all a peek of a cool section of their new showroom that is full of mannequins dressed in all of the jewels from past seasons!
Day 6 was our last day in the city and at this point we were dreaming of Carolina and warmer temps but still saw some amazing collections including A.L.C, Current Elliott, Equipment, Alice + Olivia and Rachel Zoe!
A.L.C featured a rad tie-dyed print and some gorgeous metallic lace! What a combo?!?
Alice and Olivia is always fun, flirty and unpredictable! The award for the most stunning coats definitely goes to Stacey Bendet and her Fall 2015 Collection!
We recently caught up with one of our favorite designers and friend, Hunter Bell. Hunter founded her contemporary clothing line, Hunter Bell, in 2006. She is best known for her whimsical and feminine designs as well as winning NBC’s Fashion Star in 2013. Her collection is carried in 100 boutiques nationwide and 100% of her garments are produced in New York City. Along with being uber talented, Hunter in one of the most down to earth, humble people we have ever met. We know her success will continue to be great and we feel honored and blessed to carry her line at Mosaic and call her a friend. Get to know Hunter better below in a recent Q & A session we had with the designer!
It’s hard to believe that the Holiday shipments are already starting to arrive. There’s something about the glitz and sparkle that gets me excited for the Holiday season. Hunter Bell always has a stellar Holiday collection and this outfit is a testament to that. The Rena skirt by Hunter Bell is a classic midi length that she carries from season to season. It has a silhouette that is flattering on just about everyone and not to mention the fabulous Hot Pink color! I mean what girl doesn’t love to wear hot pink? The black leather trimmed waist gives the skirt some edge. This is a great piece to add to your wardrobe especially if you’re not ready to commit to a full leather skirt. A sequined crop top is the perfect compliment to this midi skirt. I love how the short top balances the longer length of the skirt. The Mimi top by Hunter Bell has a mixture of different sized sequins that are shiny and matte. These Rebecca Minkoff Raz Heels are the must have heel for this season! The black leather and suede shoe has the right balance between classic and edgy. If you haven’t tried Rebecca Minkoff shoes yet you are missing out! These are the most comfortable heels you will ever own and will be able to dance the night away at any holiday party you have this winter! To finish the look I added a sparkly pair of Dannijo earrings and a Raoul clutch in black pony hair and leather. Every eye will be on you when you walk in to the room wearing this look and you will want to wear this again and again.
A skirt is a beautiful thing. Summer is practically synonymous with them and this summer you have multiple lengths to choose from – not just mini-skirts. So how do you beat the heat without showing off too much skin? Maxi and midi skirts are your answer. Choose one with a slit and lightweight fabric to help keep you cool.
Maxis strike the perfect balance between casual and glamorous and are so versatile. They are naturally chic when worn with a t-shirt or tank and your favorite sandals. Rachel Pally knows her way around a fabulous maxi and her skirts are no exception. They pair perfectly with a simple t-shirt or tank for the day and can be dressed up for a night out.
