I fell in love with this Brooke blouse by Rachel Zoe the moment I spotted it on the rack. The delicious golden color and flowing sihlouette are incredible. Peplums are one of my favorite styles and are so feminine. This is a classic blouse with a twist that you can wear a number of ways. I styled it with a lacquered pair of JBrand skinny jeans in a rich blackberry color. The rich jewel tones are so on trend this Fall and I am obsessed with all of them. This outfit is great for a date night with your special someone and will certainly catch their eye. The sparkling Eddie Borgo Estate bracelets in a Champagne and Citrus color compliment the blouse well. I layered in one of his signature Cone Bracelets in Rose Gold as well. You can never go wrong with adding a Dannijo necklace to any outfit and the Whistler Necklace really makes this outfit glamourous. No need to lug your massive handbag while you’re out with your beau, the Ariana glass clutch by BCBG holds all of the essentials without the bulk. Finally, a great pair of black heels and some fabulous lipstick ties the whole look together.
Colder weather doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice color this season! One of my favorite trends this season is brightly colored bags that spice up any outfit. Rebecca Minkoff, hands down has some of the best and most affordable leather handbags around. She has so many styles and colors to choose from so you can get one that fits your personality. The Leo Clutch in Ultraviolet is a fabulous little bag to take with you on a date or to a party. It will hold your essentials without weighing you down. I love the zipper detailing along the edges of the envelope shaped bag. This would be a great gift for the upcoming Holiday season and it comes in so many colors!
The Bowery Crossbody in this bright blue color has got to be one of the most beautiful bags I have seen this season. The contrasting black hardware gives the bag some serious edge and it is the perfect size to just throw on and go.
A pop of Hot Orange is just what you need to warm up any outfit this winter. The Mini Quilted Affair bag is such a classic bag and the brilliant color gives it a twist. The adjustable chain strap allows you to wear it as a crossbody or on your shoulder at different lengths. This little bag would make another amazing gift for someone special this Christmas. Keep checking our blog for more perfect gift ideas this season!
Whether you find the rule of “No white after Labor day” dated or not, I am a stickler for this one. Maybe its growing up in the South that has it ingrained in my mind that white denim is only allowed from Easter to Labor Day. I’m not sure if I will ever stray from this but I will be wearing my white skinny jeans a lot this week before I put them away.
White denim shorts and jeans are perfect to showcase your brightly colored and patterned tops. I love the casual chic feel of this Nicole Miller Tail Feather top. The attention grabbing feather pattern is amplified when paired with white shorts. I can see myself wearing this later with a great pair of dark skinnies and booties. Nell‘s mixed print tank is another great casual top that looks so cute with white cutoffs and sandals. Edgy gladiator sandals like these by Schutz are a great way to spice up a casual outfit. Both of these outfits would be great for a BBQ or pool party this weekend.
Strappy tanks with white skinnies and heels are a go to outfit for me at night. The bold print and colors in this Mara Hoffman camisole tank pop against the white so beautifully. Its loose fit balances nicely with the tight jeans and will keep you cool in this heat. Another favorite combination of mine is black and white. This 10 Crosby by Derek Lam black leather blouse is striking itself, but paired with the white jeans it is a knockout! All you need is some awesome earrings and a great clutch to finish the look. BCBGMaxazria’s Kingsley or Minna Clutch would be fabulous with either of these looks.
I love buying pieces that can transition from one season to the next. Right now I am eyeing all the beautiful fall lines coming out and craving some cooler weather so I can wear them! Luckily a lot of fall items can be worn right now and then later when the temperatures drops.
You can make any summer dress fall weather appropriate by simply adding a comfy cardigan and booties to keep you warm. Skirts are also an easy transitional piece because you can wear a tank or t-shirt with them in the warm weather and then just throw on a lightweight sweatshirt and boots for cooler temperatures. Brightly colored blouses that pop with white shorts can also be carried into the fall months by switching the white for dark denim or tan jeans. Scarves are also a great way to take summer pieces into fall, the key here is layering.
This Nicole Miller Ikat Dress is the perfect buy now wear now piece. The short sleeves and great color palette make it transition easily into Fall. Pair it now with the Rachel Zoe Gwen sandals and simple jewelry like the Kendra Scott Evan earrings. When the temperatures drop, throw on a statement sweater coat like by Malene Birger’s Cameliu Caridigan and a chunky shoe like the Rebecca Minkoff Alex bootie. Add some flair with this awesome python clutch.
This unique skirt by La Prestic Ouiston is a must have transitional piece for your wardrobe. You can take this skirt from one season to the next easily with a change of the top and shoes. Wear this skirt now with a simple gray t-shirt by Bella Dahl and neutral shoes like these Joie Nice sandals. Later in the season you can swap out the sandals for high heeled booties and a cute sweatshirt. Finish off the look with a little crossbody bag. (A side note on this fabulous skirt – it is made entirely from vintage silk scarves bought all over the world and then made in Paris. Oh la la!!)
A colorful silk blouse like this one by Tolani is timeless and can be worn year round. Wear it now with white denim cutoffs and an edgy pair of sandals like these by Rebecca Minkoff. As the weather changes you can throw it on with a tan pair of J Brand skinny jeans and an amazing pair of Rag and Bone booties.
Having pieces that can transition easily from season to season will make your life a whole lot easier. Next time you’re getting dressed think about how what you have on can possibly transition into the next season, don’t be afraid to think outside of the box!
Memorial Day weekend is almost here and all I can think about is what I am going to wear! With the temperature rising I find myself reaching for anything White….it is so chic and effortless. There are so many different ways to wear white, the choices are endless! You can play it casual with white denim cut offs by JBrand or a great Bella Dahl blouse. Throw either of them on for a BBQ, pool party or a day at the beach and you are set!
