“Every year the women of New York leave the past behind and look forward to the future….this is known as fashion week.” -Carrie Bradshaw
Bright eyed and bushy tailed, we arrived in the Big Apple this morning for the start of New York Fashion Week! It’s hard to describe the energy surrounding fashion week but it is exhilarating and something we look forward to every season! We kicked off the day at the BCBG show. This show always opens fashion week and has an impressive guest list. We have been eager to see what trends are going to be big for Spring 2016 and some that jumped out to us at BCBG were 1. Huge 70’s vibe 2. Pastel palettes 3. Lots of embroidery and texture.
Below are three of the looks we loved from the show!
After the show we headed straight to showroom appointments. Our first was with Eileen Fisher. This will be a new line for Mosaic and is the epitome of sophistication and togetherness. This line appeals to all ages and features silhouettes that would flatter any figure. Her Spring collection also featured a very neutral palette with pops of pastels through out.
We then arrived at Fashionhaus to view one of our favorites, By Malene Birger. Her collection featured gorgeous lace and eyelet and every piece had amazing texture. The collection featured some metallic touches as well as pops of tangerine.
No one does a scarf quite like by Malene Birger so we were thrilled to see so many prints and patterns to choose from.
The rest of the day consisted of viewing A.L.C., Equipment and Current Elliott as well as a new shoe line you all are going to FLIP over! We can’t wait to let you know what designer it is but trust us, it will be worth the wait!
While we were busy perusing Ready-to-Wear collections, part of the Mosaic team headed to Brooklyn to scout out something different. Later this Fall we will be introducing a specially curated home selection! We have brought on our trusted friend and talented home decor expert, Erin McEachin, to put together and find the best and most special selection for you all. Through out this next several days she will be visiting some amazing showrooms as well as visiting some of New York City and Brooklyn’s best vintage shops. We have no doubt she will find some amazing one of a kind finds for you all!
Nothing was more perfect for Erin to wear for a day in Brooklyn than the Equipment Mina Dress. Its easy, fun and flowy silhouette make it the perfect running around dress. Get the last one of these dresses here!

Tomorrow will bring another exciting day with some amazing runway shows in store. Check back tomorrow to see what we wore to the shows and what other amazing collections we saw for Spring 2016!
I have to admit to you all that I had all intentions of writing a recap each night we were in NYC to feature the great things we did and saw each day. However, between the weather and our non-stop schedule, by the time we got back to the room the only thing we did was pass out! With that said, this post features everything we did after day 1 in New York and has lots and lots of pictures! Hope you all enjoy!
We started day 2 in the BCBG showroom! We were greeted by these 4 lovely ladies and I am still dreaming of this colorful patchwork coat.
In the middle of the showroom was every look that went down the runway the day before. This picture doesn’t do these garments justice. The amount of detail on each of these outfits was breathtaking! See the full BCBG runway show here!
After Trina Turk we got to hang out with one of our favorites and friend, Hunter Bell. I had never been to her showroom so this was a treat! They do everything from design the line, create the samples, ship the line and show the line all under one roof! As always, it is great catching up with Hunter and her Fall line looks amazing!! It is my favorite collection by her to date!
I have never experienced weather as cold as it was on this trip. At one point I checked the weather and it said it felt like -15 outside! Yep…you read that right…-15!! We bundled up the best we could but I have to say I would be fine never experiencing temps that low again! After seeing BCBG, Trina and Hunter Bell we decided to duck into the place that always makes me feel warm inside….Bergdorf’s! When you step off of the elevator onto the 7th floor the smell is out of this world! We opted for the lobster mac and cheese(duh) and a lobster and avocado salad. For desert we had a chocolate molten cake and salted caramel gelato!
After that wonderful mid afternoon meal we headed over to the Lincoln Center for the Nicole Miller runway show! The Dark Forest collection was mythical and made us feel like we were in some sort of fantasy land. There were digitized forest and crystal prints and multi color fur detailing through out. The overall vibe for this show was very different from Nicole Miller’s past collections but we loved it!
Day 3 was full of amazing runway shows from Tibi, Mara Hoffman and Herve Leger. Tibi held their runway show at the Waterfront Building and the venue had so much character. The collection was full of minimalist knits in calm, cool colors and many of the pieces included fur touches and fuzzy detailing. We are thrilled to welcome Tibi to Mosaic for Fall 2015.
Mara Hoffman is always one of my favorite shows to attend! This show was no exception! She played with textures, embroidery, and gold beading to add just a hint of ’70s vibe to the collection.
Herve Leger’s show featured jacquard dresses peeking out under matching oversize bombers and was inspired by a recent trip made by designer, Lubov Azria, to Barcelona. This was the first time attending their show and the designs were simply breathtaking in person!
After a wonderful day spent viewing Fall 2015 collections on the runway we headed to the Elizabeth and James showroom! All we can say is fur, fur and more fur….and gorgeous fur at that!!
Day 4 started off with a bang at Tibi. After seeing the amazing runway show, I was very eager to view the full collection! They had the most cozy chunky knit sweaters that we wish we could have walked out of the showroom with. They also had one of the most gorgeous leather dresses I have ever seen! Expect to see this beauty at Mosaic this Fall.
Next was Giles and Brother and simply put we will be ordering 1 of everything! Their jewelry is so wearable but super unqiue at the same time!
Several blocks from Giles was Jerome Dreyfuss and their amazing wall of stunning shoes and bags! Pops of burnt orange and wine hues were scattered among the beautiful collection.
Our last stop was at one of our favorites, Megan Park. The Ready-to-Wear collection was obviously on point but she is now featuring home items and we couldn’t stop drooling!
Day 5 was designated for seeing lots of awesome jewels. We started off the day at Lionette! This line is a favorite of Hunter Bell and we are so glad she told us about them! There designs also make regular appearances on the CW’s Hart of Dixie!
Dannijo was next and they mixed up the collection for Fall by offering only all silver and gold pieces. We are use to a lot of color from Dannijo but we loved the more neutral collection. Don’t worry!! The pieces were still as amazing as ever!
We had to give y’all a peek of a cool section of their new showroom that is full of mannequins dressed in all of the jewels from past seasons!
Day 6 was our last day in the city and at this point we were dreaming of Carolina and warmer temps but still saw some amazing collections including A.L.C, Current Elliott, Equipment, Alice + Olivia and Rachel Zoe!
A.L.C featured a rad tie-dyed print and some gorgeous metallic lace! What a combo?!?
Alice and Olivia is always fun, flirty and unpredictable! The award for the most stunning coats definitely goes to Stacey Bendet and her Fall 2015 Collection!
Whew!! Our heads are still spinning and now we are off to the drawing board to put together an amazing assortment for you all for Fall 2015!! Stay tuned!
I am writing this post from 30,000 feet in the air on the way home from an amazing trip! It is hard to believe how fast fashion week goes by! Today we finished off the trip with some amazing showroom appointments! We knew we would be pushed for time at the end of the day and would have to head straight to the airport so we opted for comfortable outfits with layers. I am wearing a BCBGMAXAZRIA midi length dress with my trusty Valentino sandals and a By Malene Birger scarf. I accessorized with Giles & Brother hoops and a Kendra Scott fringe bracelet.
My amazing mother has been so great to capture all of my outfits all week! I loved her outfit so much this morning I made her pose for a couple shots! Her leopard trench is by La Prestic Ouiston, an amazing line made completely from vintage scarves. She loves to wear her BCBGMAXAZRIA leggings while traveling because they are so comfortable and are a little thicker than normal leggings. She finished off the look with the Rebecca Minkoff Jules satchel.
How cute is she? She is a natural!!
Our first appointment was with BCBGMAXAZRIA! I love this line because it is effortless, easy and almost any age can wear it! Their Spring 2015 prints were great!
They also have great handbags and clutches. They are a great price and are great quality!
Next up was our favorite, Mara Hoffman! Her showroom is the coolest! It is covered in Turkish rugs and cacti and feels like a bit of an oasis from the bustling city. The line looked amazing! (No surprises there!)
We headed down to the Meatpacking district after Mara for our Dannijo appointment. This appointment is always ones of my favorites and I have a very hard time narrowing down what I am going to order for the store. Check out these amazing color combinations!
They have also started designing handbags. They are Italian leather and are embellished with beautiful jewels and hardware.
Our final stop of the trip was Rebecca Minkoff! The color palette for her Spring 2014 collections included some beautiful icey hues and some bold pops of color as well!
We couldn’t leave the city without a quick stop at the Laduree store. We had a hard time deciding what flavors and walked away with 18 macaroons in hand. My plan is to give some to my husband when I get home but I am hoping they last that long!
Today was full of appointments viewing current lines carried at Mosaic as well as potential new lines for Spring 2015. We started the day at the Empire State building in the Rachel Zoe showroom. Her showroom was just as beautiful and chic as you would imagine. Also, Rachel just happened to be present getting her collection ready for the presentation being held tomorrow. It was very cool to see her in action!
Rachel Zoe’s Ready to Wear collection didn’t dissapoint. There were great pieces that featured beautiful chain detailing and it is very evident that midi length skirts and dresses will be all the rage for Spring 2015. She also threw a dash of animal print in there, which of course I have no objection to!
Her shoe collection was out of this world. I literally could take one of each style.
We then headed over to the 10 Eleven showroom! It is housed in a historic building in Bryant Park and has so much character. This showroom is home to many wonderful brands.
The first line we viewed there was Equipment. We just started carrying Equipment in the store and it has been uber successful! The silhouettes fit everyone well and the silk in thicker, therefore making it flattering and pieces that will hold up over time. They are truly investment pieces. Not to mention, they have the best prints!
These were just a few of our favorites!
Next up was Elle Sasson, a new line for Mosaic. It was whimsical and fun and featured some unique prints with intricate beading and embroidery.
I absolutely loved the presence of flamingos in the collection! How fun is this outfit?
If you get an up close view of the flamingo shorts you realize how detailed the embroidery is and how much work went into them.
Tanya Taylor, another new line, was beautiful and I loved the color combinations she used. Pops of bright flourescent orange were present in many of the pieces.
Here are a couple of my favorite looks from her runway show!
I had been looking forward to viewing A.L.C. and it was even prettier than I would have expected. Their graphic floral print was great and it is going to be very hard narrowing down the line. We loved so many things!
After spending several hours at 10 Eleven we had worked up an appetite! Luckily, the Bryant Park Grill was right outside the door. We snacked on a delicious desert and drank much needed coffees!
Our last appointment of the day was Nicole Miller! Her inspiration for the Spring 2015 collection came from some of her recent travels to Rio de Janeiro. There were many playful silhouettes and enticing tropical floral prints featuring shades of peach, jade and coral. Doesn’t this entrance into her showroom make you want to take a little trip?
My favorite looks from her Spring 2015 collection included these three!
Tomorrow will be our last day in the city…..until next week! We will end this trip on a high note by viewing Mara Hoffman, Dannijo and Rebecca Minkoff’s collections!! Stay tuned!
We got right to work this morning viewing Spring 2015 collections. We started at 10 Crosby Derek Lam. The collection focused on a predominantly neutral color palette and featured an abundance of beautiful pleating. My favorites included a whimsical romper and a belted trench cut from washed linen silk in a beautiful shade of agave blue.
I was also smitten with their shoe collection. There were 3 styles that I was particularly drawn to and they were all styles that are practical and shoes I would live in. I am already looking forward to these styles coming in.
A quick pit stop at Shake Shack was one of the highlights of the day. I am going to go out on a limb and say it is one of the best burgers I have ever had. I always look forward to eating there! Not to mention, they have crinkle fries!!
After lunch, we headed to Sachin + Babi. This is one of my favorite designers so I was very excited to see what they had in store for Spring 2015. It was one of their most beautiful collections to date! The embellishments and embroidery were out of this world.
It is going to be really hard narrowing down the line but these were some of my favorites from the Ready to Wear collection. Spring 2015 Trend ALERT……Mesh and fringe are going to be everywhere!
Sachin + Babi also has an evening line called Noir and the pieces are phenomenal! These were my picks!
Next up was Raoul! My head was spinning at this point! How beautiful is this color palette featuring fuschia and tangerine! This collection had a very pop art feel. At this point in the day I realized another big trend for Spring 2015 is going to be midi length skirts. I love how romantic this length is and I think it works for a variety of ages and body types.
Raoul also had a killer selection of handbags. I am a sucker for any type of exotic skin!!
Our last stop was Trina Turk. I had never been to her showroom in the Meatpacking District and it was quite a treat. It was just as colorful and cheery as you would think it would be! Viewing her Spring 2015 collection was a great way to end the day!
These were my favorite looks!
Tomorrow’s appointment include Rachel Zoe, Nicole Miller, Equipment and we will be viewing new lines A.L.C, Elle Sasson and Tanya Taylor! We can’t wait to fill y’all in on what we see!
After an amazing nights rest, I woke up refreshed and ready for day 2 in New York City. I started the day at the fhitting room, a High Intensity Training boutique fitness studio delivering a comprehensive, body-changing workout in a small class environment. It was an amazing work out that I know torched a ton of calories and it flew by! I am hoping to get to another class before the trip is over.
During the afternoon, we headed back to the Lincoln Center for Mara Hoffman’s Spring 2015 runway show. Her show is always one of my favorites and it didn’t disappoint. I had been looking for an excuse to snag this Mara Long Maxi skirt and I knew this would be the perfect chance to wear it! I paired it with a BCBG fitted top and a Rebecca Minkoff bag.
It was hard to narrow it down but these are some of my favorites from the presentation.
We headed to Hakkasan for dinner. It was my second visit and it was delicious. We had the Cod topped with truffles, the Wagyu beef tenderloin and jasmine rice. The cocktails were out of this world. We sipped on the Green Destiny(vodka, cucumber, kiwi and apple juice) and a passion fruit puree and prosecco bellini!
We arrived bright an early in the city this morning and man has it been a great first day! We had appointments scheduled as soon as we arrived so I opted for a comfortable ensemble that I knew would travel well and that I could wear straight to the showrooms. I chose my uber comfortable J Brand skinny’s and a flannel Elizabeth and James top. I finished the outfit off with my new favorites, the Rebecca Minkoff Seta sneaker!
Our first stop was By Malene Birger and what a way to start! She never dissapoints and always sets a high standard for market. Her Spring 2015 collection was filled with beautiful embellishments and lots of fringe, fringe, fringe.
After the appointment it was time to freshen up and head to the Lincoln Center for our first presentation. I chose this embroidered Elizabeth and James dress with Gianvito Rossi booties. It was the perfect choice because the dress was very comfortable and even though it has a sleeve it is lightweight and cool.
I accessorized with Dannijo earrings and a House of Harlow clutch.
Trina Turk was our first presention and it was just as bright and cheery as you would expect. It had a very retro feel and these were some of my favorite looks.
We worked up quite the appetite after a day full of appointments and shows so we headed to Koi for a delicious dinner. I frequent Koi everytime I am in the city and it gets better each time!!
A mosaic is a work of art created by assembling beautiful pieces of brightly colored materials, such as glass, metals or stone, to create an image. Mosaic is an upscale contemporary women’s boutique that draws its inspiration from the fundamental lesson communicated by these pictures made from bits and pieces — that the whole is always greater than the sum of its parts. Whether you’re assembling a single outfit or an entire wardrobe, we can help you find just the right pieces and make sure they work together to create the image you want to project. Read more....
