Take a walk on the wild side with the latest handbag collection from Sachin + Babi. The exotic skin, leather, and pony hair combine to create the most luxurious bags you’ve ever seen. They have elevated the everyday satchel with their Pleated Tote in a smooth tan leather and contrasting suede panels. This is a great carry all for every day that is still super stylish. The pleated detail on the bag and the suede panels add just the right amount of texture to a classic silhouette. It comes with a detachable strap that is also adjustable so you can customize it to the perfect length. The dark metal hardware pops against the neutral color of the leather and gives it some edge. You can fill it with all your essentials and stay organized with the amount of pockets it has inside and out.
Our favorite of the collection would be the Twisted Pony Hair Clutch in Black. The luxurious black pony hair makes quite the statement on a smaller bag. I love the twisted detail on the front flap and the exterior pocket with the exposed zipper closure. This roomy clutch can hold all you will need on a night out and it comes with a detachable strap that can transform it into a cool crossbody bag.
The python skin on the Bondage Clutch is the epitome of exotic. This envelope style clutch features criss crossed leather detailing on the front and an exposed zipper pocket on the back. It also can be transformed into a cross body bag with a detachable strap. The neutral tone of this bag makes it the perfect accessory to any outfit. I can see this quickly becoming a favorite in anyone’s closet.
Sachin + Babi have outdone themselves with their Margarete Metallic Ball Skirt for their Noir Holiday Collection this year. This dramatic high low style is a signature of theirs and they continue to use it season after season. Just wait till you see what they have in store for Spring 2015. The bronze jacquard material is so luxurious and catches the light beautifully. The texture also gives the skirt added dimension. We are loving the flattering high waisted style that would look fabulous on a variety of ages and sizes. For this post we pair the skirt with something unexpected, a more casual Nicole Miller Feather Silk Tee. We liked the combination of the textures and colors between the skirt and top. Also, we love pairing something more casual with a more dressy piece for an out of the box outfit. By Malene Birger’s gold snakeskin clutch was a perfect match for this outfit. A lovely pair of Meghna earrings and a stack of Eddie Borgo bracelets added the right amount of glitz to this glamours look. Our favorite Schutz heels and a great pair of Karen Walker sunglasses complete this outfit.
We got right to work this morning viewing Spring 2015 collections. We started at 10 Crosby Derek Lam. The collection focused on a predominantly neutral color palette and featured an abundance of beautiful pleating. My favorites included a whimsical romper and a belted trench cut from washed linen silk in a beautiful shade of agave blue.
I was also smitten with their shoe collection. There were 3 styles that I was particularly drawn to and they were all styles that are practical and shoes I would live in. I am already looking forward to these styles coming in.
A quick pit stop at Shake Shack was one of the highlights of the day. I am going to go out on a limb and say it is one of the best burgers I have ever had. I always look forward to eating there! Not to mention, they have crinkle fries!!
After lunch, we headed to Sachin + Babi. This is one of my favorite designers so I was very excited to see what they had in store for Spring 2015. It was one of their most beautiful collections to date! The embellishments and embroidery were out of this world.
It is going to be really hard narrowing down the line but these were some of my favorites from the Ready to Wear collection. Spring 2015 Trend ALERT……Mesh and fringe are going to be everywhere!
Sachin + Babi also has an evening line called Noir and the pieces are phenomenal! These were my picks!
Next up was Raoul! My head was spinning at this point! How beautiful is this color palette featuring fuschia and tangerine! This collection had a very pop art feel. At this point in the day I realized another big trend for Spring 2015 is going to be midi length skirts. I love how romantic this length is and I think it works for a variety of ages and body types.
Raoul also had a killer selection of handbags. I am a sucker for any type of exotic skin!!
Our last stop was Trina Turk. I had never been to her showroom in the Meatpacking District and it was quite a treat. It was just as colorful and cheery as you would think it would be! Viewing her Spring 2015 collection was a great way to end the day!
These were my favorite looks!
Tomorrow’s appointment include Rachel Zoe, Nicole Miller, Equipment and we will be viewing new lines A.L.C, Elle Sasson and Tanya Taylor! We can’t wait to fill y’all in on what we see!
It was a beautiful Sunday in the City. I am blessed that my mom has been able to join me on this trip and we have been having a absolute blast. We started the day at the amazing Mandarin Oriental Spa! There are no words that could do this place justice. It is the most serene, relaxing and beautiful spa I have ever been to. We both had wonderful massages and then finished the trip in their oxygen vitality pool. Needless to say, we didn’t want to leave! I can’t think of a better way to start a day!
We then headed to Bergdorf’s for lunch at the BG Cafe. No trip to NYC, in my opinion, is complete without a visit to Bergdorf Goodman! Seven floors of beautiful clothing, jewelry and accessories make this girl happy! Not to mention, the food at the Cafe is out of this world. We split my favorite, the Gotham Salad, and the rich and savory lobster mac and cheese!
After a delightful lunch we headed south to Seedhouse to view Megan Park’s Spring 2015 collection. She is one of my favorite designers housed at Mosaic and I love her colorful and vibrant prints!
After our appointment we had a little time to spare so we zipped up to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I have always wanted to go but have never had a chance. You could literally spend several days in this place and not see everything.
We only had about an hour to spare so we headed to the Rooftop Garden exhibit to take in one of the best views in the city.
Sadly, tonight was the last runway show we will attend this trip. Nanette Lepore’s runway show was a great way to end our time at the Lincoln Center. The collection was colorful and breezy and the show ended with the models dancing down the runway! Since the show was at seven o’clock, I decided it would only be appropriate to really dress up. I have been drooling over this Sachin + Babi dress since it came in! The leather applique detailing is amazing! I paired it with my trusty black peep toe Louboutin’s and a leopard clutch.
The next several days will be jam packed full of appointments to view Spring 2015 collections. We can’t wait to show you what the major trends will be!
Getting dressed in the summer can be quite the challenge especially when you live in the South. Between the heat and the humidity you feel like you’re walking around in a sauna all day. How is anyone supposed to feel cute in that kind of weather? Typically I would say just grab a loose fitting, short dress to throw on to solve this problem, but let me introduce you to another option this season: the shorts suit.
If you haven’t noticed already, one this years hottest trends is athleticism. It is all about being sleek, minimal, and luxurious. My must have piece this summer is the Jogger pant. I love how designers are using luxe fabrics, embellishments, and bold colors or prints to balance out the relaxed silhouette of the pant. It completely changes the look of the pant to something you could wear out on Friday night for drinks with friends. The way you style the pant is important, I know that can seem intimidating but I have picked three looks that are perfect for someone wanting to dip their toes in the athletic trend.
These Elliot Lauren Joggers in Black will become a staple in your closet. You can wear them with pretty much anything. I wanted to keep this look classic so I paired them with a simple long sleeved top by 3 Twenty – the mesh inserts on the sleeves give it an edge and add to the sporty vibe. Black heels and a black pair of Kendra Scott earrings finish the look – this is an easy look you will wear over and over again.
I am a huge fan of Hot Pink so when I saw these Magaschoni Joggers I knew I had to include them in this post. They were the perfect choice to pair with this Sachin + Babi bomber Jacket. This jacket is to die for! It is made from velvet laced sequins. This outfit is so bold you just need a simple top, jewelry and black heels to finish the look.
In March we shot our Spring 2014 lookbook at the beautiful Moore Botanical Gardens right here in Lake City, SC. That’s right…the gorgeous backdrop you see in the video above is in Lake City, SC and boy are we so thankful!! It provides some of the most breathtaking and unique backdrops and I love how the garden compliments the clothing oh so well! Below is the complete shopping guide to everything that was featured!
